A draft history of Upleadon completed in 2010 has been prepared for publication in the Victoria History of the County of Gloucester (VCH Gloucestershire). I was the author. Recently researched family history of the Jones on my Grandmother’s branch in Swansea found Younger Jones, farmer of Upleadon who married Elizabeth Watkins of Upleaden 1811. An ancestor of the same family, Richard Jones of Upleaden went to Swansea and became an ancestor of the Calvert Richard Jones family of Swansea, he was a friend of Henry Fox Talbot and my grandmother’s Great Uncle.
I have an early black and white picture of some farm workers stood in the area in front of the church as in the above view. Any interest?
