Parish Giving Scheme

Upleadon Church is a member of the Parish Giving Scheme (PGS), which is a 21st century solution to offset one of the greatest threats to parish income which is static giving. Donations made through this scheme use a Direct Debit. This can be made on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis.

Donations can be made on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis by Direct Debit using a PGS gift form and a recently a new telephone service has been set-up – more details may be found here. Even though the donations are made to the PGS, donations are restricted to the parish chosen by the donor and cannot be used elsewhere. Any donations made to the Upleadon Parish passed back to Upleadon parish by 10th of the month. Gift Aid will be sent separately once PGS has received it from HMRC.

The unique feature of the scheme is the option for the donor to commit in principle to increase their gift annually in line with inflation. Whilst this is a voluntary decision, it is one that could potentially have a huge impact on the life and future of the church.
